    Beautiful work. That's something I've always wanted to try my hand at, and I just might as I get older and working at the forge becomes more and more an issue.

    Great to see! I learned that trick last year and can't believe I never thought of it myself. I've been redoing my yard with all native plants and now have 4 pots on the porch with asters and other such beauties. Monty's been a real inspiration and watching his videos is always a pleasure.

    Великолепная работа! Люблю такие механизмы. Лет 8 назад хотел подобный сделать. Только проблемы с шестернями. Поэтому сделал механизм с маятником, как у часов. Механизм через велосипедную цепь вращает шампура с шашлыком в камине.

    Kim, was the chain standard on these? I would have thought a small diameter, knotted rope would have been used since the chain would have to be more precise and a twist would cause problems. I think I have seen wood pulleys with holes drilled in such a way that they made divots in the edges of the pulley V and bottom of the V it would allow the knot to catch. Great work!

    ..Looking very good sir. i saw one model similar to this that the 3-prong spinner was adjustable to control the speed slightly. The arms would move up and down. How would this be done with this model? Thanks for showing us the restoration...!

    Is the cog wheel and drum one casting, or separate pieces pinned together? Is it brass?

      It is one piece Brass. Previous ones I’ve worked on were two pieces dovetailed together. You will see more closely in the next video. Thanks
